I understand how to secure a structure in place. You dig a hole in the ground, stick a post in it, pour concrete around the post, and you’ve got a nice secure base. It’s not going anywhere. Then I notice this picnic cover structure. It looks like the shelter is right where they put it. But looking more closely at the concrete around the post… The concrete is off on an odd angle. The surface is not perpendicular to the post like you’d expect it to be if the concrete was poured into a hole around a vertical post. It looks more like it was poured into a hole on the side of a hill, but this ground is level. And the side of the concrete is not vertical like the post. It’s off on an angle too. The post for the shelter is still vertical; it doesn’t look bent. It’s a mystery to me; how the poured concrete can be off at such an odd angle to the post, but the shelter looks like it is right where it’s meant to be.
