Judy feeds her

She bathes her.  She brushes her, talks to her, cuddles her, takes her for walks, and gives her treats.  Yet, for no apparent reason, she’s a daddy’s girl.  Wherever I go, she wants to go too.  Whenever I stop moving, she’s right there.

Leftovers for lunch

Leftovers from home.  Ribs and wings.  We got a good enough cooler it will hold ice for most of a week.

It’s not very big, but we can bring a little cold food.  And salad kits to go with dinner.

Roughing it smoothly.

Not only do we get morning coffee

Even with our minimalist cooking, we get breakfast!  Today’s delight, biscuits and gravy.

Tomorrow, a sausage, eggs, and potato breakfast skillet with peppers and onions!

This is what allows the magic to happen, our little electric teapot.

Clink!

It can be very loud at night

The barred owls call early after dark.  They sound like this:

The great horned owl a little later.

At 1am, the barn owl went off right above our heads.

It was spine tingling.  Shivers!  It was REALLY LOUD!

After that, until 2am, the raccoons were squabbling and growling noisily.  Maybe their agitation had something to do with what the screaming barn owl had for dinner.
