Leftovers from home. Ribs and wings. We got a good enough cooler it will hold ice for most of a week.
It’s not very big, but we can bring a little cold food. And salad kits to go with dinner.

Not only do we get morning coffee
Even with our minimalist cooking, we get breakfast! Today’s delight, biscuits and gravy.
Tomorrow, a sausage, eggs, and potato breakfast skillet with peppers and onions!

It can be very loud at night
The barred owls call early after dark. They sound like this:
The great horned owl a little later.
At 1am, the barn owl went off right above our heads.
It was spine tingling. Shivers! It was REALLY LOUD!
After that, until 2am, the raccoons were squabbling and growling noisily. Maybe their agitation had something to do with what the screaming barn owl had for dinner.
Got this cool new device
It’s a portable power source.
Now, when we don’t have shore power at a campsite, we can still keep our devices charged and use them as much as we want. The power source can even run the little hot water teapot so we can brew morning coffee and heat freeze-dried meals without carrying cooking gear. It recharges from shore power or the auxiliary outlet in the car.
We’ve been purchasing freely for camping. Every convenience device we have room for in the Jeep goes on the list. So far, we’ve spent the equivalent of one full tank of fuel in the bus. We’re rocking it!

We have to watch for weather windows for camping. No winter storms or heat waves. We think we’re cool this week. Highs in the low 80s. Lows in the 60s. Reliable internet.
