Austin

Austin got the world’s coolest Christmas present as far as I’m concerned.  A Hoover Board.   Austin.  Hoover board video   It’s like a skateboard that goes sideways, or a Segway with no handlebars.  Does that seem like a good idea?  I guess it is, because it works!

On the road again December, 28,

It was a little cool when we left Phoenix.  We headed south and east past Casa Grande, Picacho Peak, and Rooster Cogburn’s Ostrich Ranch.  Illuminated highway signs in Tucson warned us that there had been rain and as a result the roads might be wet.

The Texas Canyon Rest Stop was showing signs of winter weather.

As is the Willcox KOA.

It’s projected to be 20 degrees tonight.

2018 Phoenix trip

The town of Willcox clears up any potential misunderstanding about who owns their golf balls.

A view of the Chiricahuahs from the west.

And we spotted a northern harrier.

Along the way December, 26,

Hanging out with Alex at gymnastics practice.

Hanging out with Arie at swim lessons.  The video is on Judy’s Facebook page.  I couldn’t figure out how to get it over to YouTube.

No fear.  She doesn’t have to swim on top of the water at all.  Arms and legs everywhere.

Hanging out with Ayla; just hanging out.

Met up with Jim and Elle one more time for lunch.

(Judy was otherwise occupied.)

We talked about their boat trip (Nordic Tug) up the coast from Florida, into the Great Lakes, farther north to Canada, through the river and lock system to the Mississippi, back down to the Gulf, and completing the loop back to Florida.  Amazing.  Elle shared her sketch book.

She recorded impressions all along the way.  What a cool souvenir of their trip.

And motorcycles.

Matt’s Harley.

And Eli’s Indian.
