Lunch with the McKees

We met Don and Barb in 1976.  We had just moved into the Louisville house.  I had been driving around, exploring our new town, and was struck by a stately brick home in old town.  When Judy got home, I piled her in the car and drove the few blocks to show her my discovery.  She said “Oh.  That’s where the McKees live.  Want to meet them?” So many things we’ve done together in the years since.  I don’t have a picture of then.  Here is a picture of now:

We already had the annual Partners’ Meeting with Ken last week

Today, we had the Kring Lunch. Gary Kring is a next-door office, CPA, now long-time friend.  (He’s the guy right across the table from me.)  We’re all part of each other’s work family.  Gary and staff come to our annual Office Christmas Dinner.  Gary invites all of us to an end-of-busy season lunch.  He always takes us somewhere nice.  In the past he has taken us to the Brown Palace and John Elway’s.  This year he hosted lunch at a *very* nice place, Rioja, in old Larimer Square. It’s something to look forward to each year.

Happy Birthday Becky

She and Judy got a spa day.  Haircuts, manicures, and pedicures.   And flowers. Happy Birthday, Becky! (Later, she cooked us dinner.  J)

Another mystery bug

From down south I know a couple bug-guys.  I’ve sent this photo to them, but neither has seen it before. Scouring Google, it looks like an oakworm moth; anisota.  It must be newly metamorphosed; with its underdeveloped wings.  It’ll likely grow up to be a big strong orange moth one day.
