The Great Pacific Northwest Tour

2015 summer trip map We haven’t had enough.  We headed north.  Now we’re at Memaloose State Park on the Columbia River.  We got lucky.  When we got here, the site we had reserved wasn’t that good, but the ranger had a nice one in reserve and we got that.  There are trees, but the satellite dish on our roof is open to the sky, so we could watch the republicans debate each other, and watch Jon Stewart’s final show. The campground is nice.     And we saw a Lewis’s Woodpecker.

Happy Anniversary to us

It’s our 10 year anniversary in the bus today.  In celebration of that event, we’ve brought the motorhome back to her roots in Bend Oregon.  We’re at Beaver Coach Sales, where we made the purchase.  We’re getting a few things fixed; some tank gauges, a slide-out latch, some minor interior stuff. It’s fun to work with the people in the service and parts departments that have been with Beaver Coaches for all this time.  Many of them were helping build them in the factory fifteen or twenty years ago.  When we describe things we want fixed or modified, we get instant recognition of what we’re talking about.  They’ve seen all this many times before.  They know their coaches. We had an appointment for Tuesday morning at 8am.  They were ready for us when we walked in the door.  They did everything on our list in a day and a half.  A visit to a repair shop and we’re almost sorry for it to be over so fast. We’ll be off to continue our adventure first thing tomorrow morning.

Oops

I misspoke.  That’s not a titmouse, it’s a bushtit.  Similar name.  Different bird.  This is the bushtit. This is a titmouse.

You just never know

…when a sea otter is going to pop up in the ocean,  swim to shore,  shake the water off,     and go look for munchies on the shore.  …or pop up onto a dock, crunching something tasty.  When really, I was just trying to take a picture of the asymmetrical catamaran.  Meanwhile, we’ve moved on.We left Sequim on Saturday morning for Christie and Andy’s in Edmonds to help them celebrate their first wedding anniversary.  (They threw the party, we just showed up.) We left there this morning and stopped for the night in Portland. 2015 summer trip map
