Mimi,
the Live Steam Engine, doesn’t have any tracks to live on here, but she sits proudly atop a bookshelf in our office,
basking in past glories; a time when she steamed around the front yard in Louisville, huffing and chuffing about, entertaining the entire neighborhood,
compliments of the generosity of my brother David.

Lindsay is back to her pre-baby weight, and I am back to my pre-Thanksgiving Day weight. Judy has been on a steroid regimen for two weeks for her knee; so she’s just irritated and hungry and won’t say anything about her weight.
Along the way
Why do you suppose
…we plant so much grass on highway medians, then spend so much energy mowing it? Miles and miles of median being mowed; the clippings blown back into the grass to facilitate even more growth to mow. That’s a lot of resources in man hours, equipment, and fuel.
It looks nice when it’s done, but is it all for aesthetics? Habit? Safety? Because we can’t think of something else to plant that doesn’t require mowing?
