Plans change
Just before we left Edinburg we did our visit with the dermatologist. Usually it’s just a matter of getting hit with liquid nitrogen, but this time he found something to biopsy on my back. The next week we got the call with the results. Positive. Now we’ve circled back to Sandpipers for surgery on Tuesday. If all goes well, we’ll be back on the road again on Wednesday. A 280 mile day. Back to where we started. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=201563872774147443355.0004e02f0c80f1461c0bf&msa=0&ll=35.46067,-87.143555&spn=21.231648,53.569336
Fourth of July
Bandera style. Warm evening, Hot dogs on the grill. Potato salad. Beans. Drive into town to the golf course. One neighbor, two pickup trucks. Folding chairs in the truck beds. Parked close enough to pass the watermelon back and forth. Killing time with conversation until it’s dark enough. The whole field fills in with pickup trucks and lawn chairs. Sporadic fireworks; small town style. Big finish. Not completely sure when it’s done. A couple more go off. We go home. Still fireworks on the horizon. Perfect.
Bandera
It’s hot.
…in Bandera in the summer. It’s the Hill Country, so there is a little altitude, maybe 1,500 feet, but that’s not enough to cool off the weather. So Jeff and Carol put up a sunscreen for their 5th wheel.
…a really big sunscreen. It works great. The roof of the trailer is always in the shade. Plenty of room for air overhead.
The patio is open and comfortable.
What a great addition.
