Judy buys stuff. I carry it. She came home with something really heavy. She got help from the store loading it in the car. She suggested I get someone to help me get it in the house. Yeah. Right. I was careful with it. I tipped the case up on its end in the back of the Jeep, got down low and rocked it up onto my shoulder. I staggered up the stairs with it and put it inside. Judy asked how much I thought the box weighed. I volunteered that it probably only weighed twenty pounds, knowing that she would be impressed when she eventually found out how much it really weighed. It was disappointing a little later though when I peeked at the weight stamped on the outside and saw that it really did only weigh twenty pounds! Reality sucks. I do the heavy lifting, but now only if it’s not really heavy.
Gulf waters lot
Remember that lot being developed at the end of a little pond? I sent out some pictures last spring.
Well, it’s all done now. Looking good too.
It has something new too. Some of the bricks along the edges are transparent with solar powered lights inside.
They light up every night to outline the patio!

Morning coffee on the patio, the little frog in the fountain starts talking. Little buzzes, croaks, and burps. We’ve seen him there before. When we take the fountain apart to clean it, he jumps out and startles us. He lives in the rocks stacked around the base. Sometimes we see him hopping around in the dark at night. This is the first time we’ve heard him though. Maybe our little frog is growing up and has just hit puberty. Anyway, we’re sitting there listening to him muttering and Judy realizes that every time she pours bleach into that fountain (about once a week) to knock down the algae that wants to grow there, she’s also dosing the little frog. That must be one tough little guy.
Alex update
There was a gymnastics meet on Saturday. We weren’t there in Colorado to take any video, but Matt was and he uploaded them to YouTube for us. Ringshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj69XK-dAWg Vaulthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3oDbfzlgrE Pommelhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3oDbfzlgrE Floorhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Foa2ydyUnvY He scored a perfect 10 on the rings. He made some mistakes in his routine, but he also performed a bonus move which brought his score back up to 10.
Happy Birthday Judy!
You know, this is the day Judy gets to do whatever she wants all day. Morning coffee on the patio, A drive on the beach. The ferry to Aransas Pass. A stop at Conn Brown Harbor to see if there is a Loon there. Yes! A couple errands to Walgreen and Lowe’s. The Concrete yard ornament shop on Highway 35. Lunch at Mack’s Barbecue in Rockport. Fulton Beach Road. Out to the pasture next to the Big Tree to see if the Whooping Cranes would be there. They were way off in the distance. Goose Island State Park. Red-breasted Nuthatch. Common Goldeneye. Judy thought maybe if we went back out by the Big Tree, we might catch the cranes flying closer. We did! Beach, ferry, Goose Island, barbecue, 80 degrees, and a foot rub. Snapshots of the day. I drove, she shot.
Happy Birthday Judy!
