A walk around Boulder

And you’re likely to see a sailplane getting towed overhead.

As I recall, the standard tow is 3,000 feet, then the sailplane drops the line and peels off on its own to search for thermals, or a standing wave off the foothills, to see how long it can stay up.  Fun times, getting glider rides from John B all those years ago.

And goslings.  At this time of year, there are goslings.

Lunar Eclipse

Really, we were there.  We saw the eclipse; we just didn’t get to the pictures until now.

I like how, as the moon got darker, the stars came out.

It was pretty cool.

Wild Kingdom

When you’re a Swainson’s Hawk.

You need to be on constant lookout.

One never knows which direction the next magpie will come from.

They could be anywhere.

Even right next to you!

You just never know.

Rain or Shine

That’s what they said about grandson Conner’s High School outdoor graduation ceremony.  Well, here is what “rain or shine” looked like today.

They took pity and moved the celebration to an indoor arena in Broomfield.  The stage was set.

Then filled.

Conner graduated Cum Laude with Engineering recognition.

Congratulations, Conner!

Next up, University of Arizona in Tucson.
