Poop happens

Sometimes there are wild critters around.  We don’t always get to see them.  Sometimes we have to figure out what they are by the traces they leave behind.

We found little bits of poop scattered around the outside of the house this morning.

We’ve definitely been checked-out by something.

We didn’t know what it was, so we asked around.  A neighbor recognized it and told us possum.  Apparently, possums just walk around pooping a little bit at a time all over everywhere!

They must be easy to track, …if a person wanted to track a possum.  And for everyone who has been wondering what possum poop looks like, now you know!

The field of study will be Professional Human Osteoarchaeology.  Osteoarchaeologists identify and analyze (analyse in British) human skeletal remains from archaeological sites.  Whenever old burial sites get dug up, accidentally or otherwise, osteoarchaeolgists get called in to figure out what they’ve just found.  An exciting new chapter for Taylor, and for us as we follow the adventure.  It starts in the fall.

I’ve already looked to see what birds have been spotted within a 25 mile radius of campus in the last week.  Total sightings, 137 species.  Number of those that would be lifers for us, 107.  I feel a trip to visit Taylor coming on!
