Some ants

 Some ants just have holes in the ground. And some ants build sandcastles!    There are ant holes in the bottom of each of those cups of sand.

 Or we walk under a canopy of retama trees. We walk carefully though.  Retamas are a little spikey.

I have

 I have the wingspan of a turkey vulture! I’m not an eagle. Judy is bigger than a yellow crowned night heron , but not quite as big as an osprey.

In 2016

 Judy planted the cactus/succulent garden, not knowing whether those plants we picked up along the way on an extended trip out of state would even like it in Texas.  These are pictures from then.   Now in 2018, we have the answer.  The desert plants love it here!
