It has been an exciting last couple weeks.  Today, a quiet catch-up day at home. Becky already dropped Brian and Conner off at the airport in Albany; Conner had a commitment back in Colorado.  One more visit in Great Barrington for Judy and me, with Becky, Teigan, Tony, and Jen for dinner.  Tomorrow, Becky flies home to Colorado.  Tony and Teigan will drive home to Colorado together in Tony’s car.  We drive north.

Graduation day

 We all collected on campus.  It’s a really nice campus.      Waiting for the ceremony to begin.  Simon’s Rock graduation Caught the processional coming in.  Processional Tony is the fourth person behind the bagpiper.  Girlfriend Jen is twentieth. Tony getting his diploma.   Great weather for the photos in the sunshine afterwards.   With girlfriend Jen. Henry got into the act. Finished up the day with a home cooked dinner at our house.  (Thank you Judy and Becky.)

Another four state day

  (In a way.) We left Pennsylvania, passed through New Jersey, stopped the motorhome in Copake, New York, then headed off in the car for dinner with Brian, Becky, and family (and Jen and her family) in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.    (Although I’ve been reminded that traveling through four states in a day is no big deal; a person can stand in one place and be in four different states at the same time, if they happen to be at Four Corners, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico.) 2017 Summer Trip Map We’re here to celebrate Tony’s graduation.  From College!  We were here to help drop Tony off four years ago when he was sixteen.  Here we are again already; the last four years just flew by (for us).  I had to attach two pictures to get everybody in the shot, but here is the dinner party. I just couldn’t get Conner and Teigan in the same shot.  I barely got Judy in.

A new personal best

 Four states in two hours.  In leaving Virginia, we passed through bits of West Virginia and Maryland, before crossing into Pennsylvania. 2017 summer trip map Across the Mason Dixon Line, we’re well into the North now.  We don’t really know much about the Mason Dixon Line.  I’m familiar with reference to it as a rough delineation between The North and The South.  I like the song James Taylor sings about it.  We decided to Google it.  According to Wikipedia, the survey for that Line was commissioned in 1763 to settle border disputes between Colonial Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.  It still serves as a line of demarcation between those states, as well as West Virginia, which seceded from the Confederate State of Virginia in 1861, to remain loyal to The Union. Rolling right along, stopping at KOA Campgrounds each night, we found another wonderful one.  I took this last photo because the flowers smelled so good.

P.S.

 We’re through with Olympics, (but I just uploaded three more videos): Parallel bars   13th Place. Rings               8th Place. High bar         4th Place.  A two state day.  (But one of the states is really tall!) 2017 summer trip map Harrisonburg/Shenandoah Valley KOA.  Another great KOA! A site in the forest. Nicely improved. Excellent view. And a campfire in a dish. On the way here, we stopped at the oldest metal bridge in Virginia.
