Mystery solved

Remember that picture I sent out, and I didn’t know what butterfly it was? “I don’t know what this butterfly tastes like.(I don’t even know what it is, but it *is* my photograph.)” Thanks to this response from Jon, now we know: It’s a Mexican bluewing.  Tastes like a chorizo and egg taco.

LOL.

Queen Butterflies

Monarch butterflies taste terrible (or so I’m told).(not my photo) Queen butterflies, on the other hand, are yummy, so as a protection against predators, they just look like monarch butterflies.(My photo) We are currently surrounded by a plethora of Queen Butterflies. A veritable plethora. I don’t know what this butterfly tastes like.(I don’t even know what it is, but it *is* my photograph.)

Election

Well.  That was a weird night. We said all we wanted was for this election to be over.  I guess we should have been more specific.  Looks like Judy and my votes didn’t turn our red state of Texas blue after all. I’m the one always touting change.  Embrace it.  Adapt to it.  It’s unavoidable anyway, so might as well go with it.  Okay.  I think things are going to be different alright, even though no one really knows how yet.  For the last eight years we’ve been hearing “We need to take our country back.”  Well, you’ve got it back now! Let’s see…   I still need to find a yellow-throated warbler for the year.  I know there’s one around here somewhere…
