Weather delayed flights out of, and in to, Denver; going and coming Friday and Monday. Diverted to other cities. Late nights. When we got back to Becky and Brian’s at 1:30 this morning, the World Cup Women’s Soccer match was on live television from New Zealand, so the night got even a little longer. In-between, a very nice Saturday and Sunday in Portland helping Elisa and Solomon celebrate their wedding. Andy and Christie drove down from Washington.
There was a reception party.
Never mind Christie in the background. I think she was savoring a flavor.
Food was abundant.
And not one to be bound by convention, Elisa’s choice for a wedding cake was to have it in the form of an armadillo.
Red velvet, with structure provided by malleable white chocolate, held together by plenty of frosting. Provided by a talented friend.
Lots of people and lots of different conversations at the party. Plenty of time for the six of us to visit the rest of the weekend.
