We see a lot of ruby crowned kinglets. Usually, you don’t see the ruby crown at all. You only see it if he wants to show it to you. He flashes it by raising his head feathers. It’s striking but brief, so we’ve never gotten a picture of it. Now the golden crowned kinglet… that’s different.
