Sometimes
Sometimes you just have to change the rules, declare victory, and move on. It’s time; we’ve done enough. We’re all packed up. Tomorrow morning we’re headed south. Said goodbye to the kids tonight.

Longtime friend in Colorado. When mom used to volunteer to help seniors with their tax returns in Boulder in the 1970s, Irene was her boss at the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Mom also kept the books as a volunteer for the consignment store that benefitted RSVP. Our whole family got to know and love Irene way back then. Through all the years since we’ve kept in touch. Irene has done so much all her life to help others, she got honored today with a building dedication for the new I Have a Dream Foundation building. It was a small ceremony with mostly family and Foundation personnel attending.

A bright sunny day. Couldn’t figure out how to get a photo of the plaque without the reflection. Of course we weaseled in on a picture as well (even though we had nothing to do with this honor)). We were just happy to be there to celebrate her.

He did really well at gymnastics last year, except he fell every time on the pommel. He has been having trouble with his wrists, and everything you do on the pommel goes through your wrists. (Photos from an earlier time.) 
They’ve tried several alternative solutions with chiropractors and acupuncture, but nothing has helped. He has stress fractures in both wrists. The current solution is to cast both so they get absolute rest for six weeks. 
Hoping that does it.
