Remember the mirror arms?
When we got the body work and chrome done this winter, we didn’t get the outside mirror arms done. We had to wait until later. Well, this is later. We found a shop in Mesa that could replace them for us. Arriving at 7:30am this morning, we left the coach in their care and had to otherwise occupy ourselves. We found a train park.
It’s really big.
It’s got trains to ride.
A carousel.
A track section for home hobbyists who want to run their own live steam trains.
An impressive indoor layout.
Altogether, a very nice place to while away a few hours, even though Henry found it exhausting.
And the mirror arm replacement was a success. The bus is back in place at the Motorcoach Resort in Chandler. arizona trip map

We took Austin to the museum of natural history. My favorite part might be the Columbian Mammoth; an awe-inspiring beast.
There were prehistoric sharks.

That ebird map; it’s just for the sightings Judy and I have recorded. Everybody gets their own ebird map. Hover the cursor over any state and it tells you how many birds you’ve recorded in that state. The brighter red the color, the more birds. Texas, 477 species. Colorado, 245 species. Arizona, 227. North Carolina, 0!

It highlights the number of birds recorded on ebird by state. The redder the color, the more birds reported in that state. We’ve reported birds in Hawaii. We haven’t been to Alaska yet. And North Carolina! It’s totally gray! We’ve been to North Carolina, but we’ve never reported a single bird there. I feel a trip to the southeast coming on.
