I was just thinking

About the Olympics… and pro beach volleyball; specifically about the uniforms.  Guys playing in baggy T-shirts and baggy shorts.  The women wearing bikinis; tiny skin tight bikinis.  I know, ratings matter, but could the organizers be any more obvious?  I wonder, did they ever consider having the girls play in mud?

Things to do with succulents

This summer, I sent out pictures of the cactus and succulents Judy bought in California. While we were there, we saw them displayed in innovative ways.  They can be spilling out of fountains.  Hanging on walls.  Or arranged to fill out the shapes of figures.   Inspirational.

Say goodbye to my little friend

I have to say, this is the friendliest kidney stone I’ve ever had.  It was mean to me the first two or three days to establish itself, then settled down to just a background thing; only the occasional reminder that it’s still there; easily managed with Tramadol.  Sometimes we name kidney stones.  Earl was a tough one.  This time we visualized a cute little newly hatched sea turtle paddling its way across the sand to the sea; and I’m its beach. Well, I’m happy to announce that after four weeks of effort, the little sea turtle has made its way past the hazards of the beach and is now swimming free in the ocean.

A change in the weather

It has been hot; basically a hundred degrees every day for weeks.  That’s our standard summer weather. All that changed yesterday though.  Our high was only in the low nineties.  This morning it was 77 degrees outside.  I almost had to turn the heater on.  The temperature was at 91 when it started raining yesterday.  I thought it might cool even more in the rain, but it stayed at 91.  It feels like fine fall weather. That’s our new weather pattern; rain off and on and low nineties.  Until next week.  Then the forecast is for no more rain and back to a hundred.
