The snow zone

…was bigger than we expected.  We woke up to low clouds and snow. We hung around for a while.  Did some work.  Waited for the clouds to lift. It warmed up to almost freezing.  One more trip onto the roof and we got all the slides in again.  A late start, but we were on the road by 11.  Breakfast in Colorado, lunch in New Mexico, and dinner in Texas.  Stopped for the night at Oasis RV Resort in Amarillo. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=201563872774147443355.0004cc33898d471fe8fc9&msa=0&ll=37.439974,-100.458984&spn=10.566088,26.784668 We drove through three states to get here and now that we’re back in Texas we’re almost halfway home.  It is not forecast to get below freezing tonight in Amarillo, so no way we can wake up to snow tomorrow……  Right…….???

Thursday

Here is that white stuff everyone has been talking about     Matt got my computer done and brought it out to us early in the day.  We got one last visit with him for the year and were ready to go by noon…. ….then we started clearing snow off the top of the slides so we could close them and drive.   One at a time, with me on the roof and Judy below, we got each slide (and the attendant slide awning) to retract.  Tonight, 200 hundred miles south.  Lathrop State Park.  We’re not out of the cold, it will be in the 20s tonight, but we’re out of the snow zone.

Wednesday

The dermatology appointment with John went well yesterday.  He hit us each about 20 times with liquid nitrogen, so now we look like we got in a bicycle wreck, but he didn’t have to take any samples of anything to send to the lab, so that feels like a victory to us.  Had a nice dinner visit with Becky and Brian in Longmont. The Wednesday appointment with the eye surgeon went well.  We’re all through with that until next spring.  That was the last of our appointments, so we’re free to head south.  We checked out of the campground at Boulder County Fairgrounds and headed south…. ….as far as Chatfield State Park in Littleton.  Matt needs to do a couple more things to my new laptop.  Have to leave the computer with him.  Can’t leave yet, and there is snow forecast for tonight.

Brian and Becky’s app, Family Med Tracker, got reviewed

http://www.theiphonemom.com/family-med-track-reviewBusy moms everywhere rejoice! How many times have you had a sick child and said to yourself “Can Sally have her medicine every 4 hours or every 6 hours? And what time was it when I gave it to her last?” Or you are at the doctor’s office and they ask you what medications you are currently taking and you just can’t remember the names? Luckily for us, Family Med Track has come along to ease our minds and lighten our loads. This app takes all of your family medical information and organizes it and manages it for you. With just a few easy steps, you can enter information for multiple people and even email or print a checklist or history for babysitters, school, or doctors! There are 4 main features of this app:1) Reminders – Here you can set medication reminders for each member of your family. Your phone will alert you when it is time to administer a dose of medication. You can also pick a unique notification sound so your medication reminders stand out.2) History – Enter the medical history for your family members including surgeries and hospitalizations.3) Conditions/Allergies – This section records allergic reactions, health conditions, and family medical history. You can also indicate the severity of the allergic reactions and health conditions from Mild to Life Threatening.4) Doctors – List the doctors and their contact information for each family member, including general practitioners as well as specialists. There are far too many benefits to this app to name here, but there are a few that stand out in my mind. Ultimately it is all about convenience. All of this important information is stored in your phone, which if you are like me, is nearly always with you. Security is always a concern, particularly for sensitive medical information but Family Med Track keeps your information safely stored locally on your device or you have the option of storing it in your secure iCloud account. Each family member is different and keeping all of their information straight can be challenging. This app assists you in safely managing your family’s medications to avoid the risk of accidental overdose, mixing medications that should not be taken together or forgetting an important dose of medication. Finally, it gives me peace of mind to know that in an emergency situation I can access all of my family’s critical medical information with a tap on my device.Family Med Track was developed by a small family business – mom, dad and oldest son. The team knew from experience that keeping track of each family member’s personal health history can be a challenge. This is an app created by a family, for your family and is definitely an app that every mom should have!Price: 2.99See the app in iTunesRequirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. We got a new camera

A Nikon D3200.  Now we can take better bird pictures.   Early fog for the drive from Kansas back to Colorado, but otherwise calm air and blue skies all the way.  Now we’re back to where we started from a week ago, Boulder County Fairgrounds. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=201563872774147443355.0004cc33898d471fe8fc9&msa=0&ll=38.539573,-100.524902&spn=2.766933,6.696167 We had appointments scheduled through Friday.  The weather forecast predicts snow here at the end of the week.  We’ve shuffled the schedule somewhat.  We go see our friend John tomorrow to get the liquid nitrogen torture, then on Wednesday we pay our final visit to the eye-surgeon so we can roll out of here Wednesday afternoon.  A stop at Matt’s house to finish off the new computer set-up and we’re good to go south and snow-free.
